I’m won't say too many words — mainly because I’ve got as much to do as anyone else who is about to cook an entire Thanksgiving dinner for 15 people (AKA a lot!) but also because some things can just speak for themselves.
The holidays can be overwhelming. At times they are stressful, unkind to our minds, hard on our wallets, and full of surprises good and bad. But the one thing I know in this life is that ice cream + alcohol + coffee can do a heck of a lot for stress. I couldn’t think of a better recipe to offer you the day before Thanksgiving or to wrap up our fall cocktail series. This affogato is all the things we need right now — indulgent, alcoholic and easy.
I know you are stressing about dinner tomorrow, and I am saying this for all of you just as much as I am saying it for myself — STOP! It will all be okay, and if it’s not, scoop some ice cream, brew some espresso, and douse it all in rum!
- Put scoops of ice cream in a short glass or mug.
- Pour ¾ ounces rum over the ice cream.
- Pour the shots of espresso over the ice cream and top with shaved dark chocolate.
- Sit back and let someone else do the dishes!
